Why won't the FIS launch after clicking "Launch the FIS"?


There can be several reasons cauing the problem which are addressed below:

  • If you are a new user to the FIS please make sure that your department has added you as an FIS user.

  • You will also want to make sure you have the current version of the Citrix Client installed on your machine.  If both of those issues have been resolved then you may have a “Registry” issue.

  • Please have your Local Service Provide (LSP) complete the below steps to fix the FIS Registry on your machine.

    1. Here are the steps to give full access to FIS users:

    • After lauching FIS
    • Right click the ICA Client icon in the lower right corner of your monitor by the time and date.
    • Choose Open Connection Center
    • Choose File Security
    • Choose Full Access
    • Choose OK
    • Choose OK
    • Close window and restart FIS

    2. Here are the registry key fix instructions:
    We have found that the issue is with permissions to a registry key. The user must have the following permissions to:

    Key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing\HardwareID
    Permissions: Query Value, Set Value, Create Subkey, Enumerate Subkeys, Notify, Write DAC, Read Control
