What are the steps for running an organizational hierarchy report in IUIE?

Go to www.onestart.iu.edu and select University Systems tab, from the IUIE box click on Access the IUIE. If you are NOT registered to used the IUIE, there is a registration form that will display, complete the steps (you will receive a message that registration was successful but you will not have immediate access) it will take approximately 2-3 days for you to receive email notification that you’re access has been established.

If you have already registered, click on the Catalog Tab, then open the Master Catalog and open the Financial Folder.

Select the "Chart of Accounts" subfolder. Then, select "Organization Hierarchy" on the COA folder report page. You will now see the selection criteria page for the Organization Hierarchy report.

The "Chart Code-Organization Code" field you must enter selection criteria for is called "COA Code-Org Code." The format of your entry must be "coa"-(dash) "org".

  1. If you want to get a hierarchy report showing ALL of the organizations for the ENTIRE UNIVERSITY, you should enter IU-UNIV as your value.
  2. If you just want to get a hierarchy report showing all of the organizations for YOUR CAMPUS, you need to enter one of the following:

    BL-BL
    IN-IN
    EA-EA
    KO-KO
    NW-NW
    SB-SB
    SE-SE
    UA-UA
  1. If you only need to get the hierarchy report of organizations in your RC, you will need to enter the campus code, followed by a dash, then the org code for your RC. (For example, the School of Medicine at IUPUI would use IN-MED; the College of Arts & Sciences in Bloomington would use BL-ARSC.) If you are looking for a hierarchy report for lower organizations, you would use that COA-ORG code combination.
Once you have entered the value you need, there is only one other criteria choice to make. If you wish to see all of the ACCOUNTS associated with each organization, you need to click on the box to the left of the "Include Associated Accounts?" category.

You are now ready to submit the report for it to be generated. You will need to indicate whether you want the report to be brought back on your browser (plain text) so you can look at it onscreen, or whether you prefer to receive the report in the word processor you have configured for your internet application, so that you can save it and/or print it out. (If you do not know if you have a word processor configured for your internet application, check with your organization's technical support provider.)

Finally, click on the "Run" button, and your request will be processed. If you bring the report into a word processor, you can then reformat or print the report based upon the capabilities of your word processing application.
