Why did my FIS transaction hang during normal processing with the cursor appearing as an hour glass?


Although this may indicate a hung transaction, it might also be the result of encountering locks held by another user, or requesting a time-consuming operation.

If you have done a search on a non-key field of a large table, it may take a few minutes to return the requested data. If the cursor does not return to normal within a reasonable amount of time, contact the FMS Help Desk.

If you have rebooted your PC to clear a hung transaction, PLEASE contact the FMS Customer Service department with the FMS Support Form. Rebooting may not always solve the problem. The FMS Help Desk will take the necessary steps to solve this problem. It is preferable that you contact the FMS Help Desk BEFORE rebooting, because this will provide database and system administrators with more information in troubleshooting the hung transaction.
