How can I print a document in TP?
|
The steps for printing a TP document are as follows:
- Select File/Print from the menu bar. You will then be presented with a small dialog box
where you can select a radio button to indicate the type of output you prefer to send to
your Windows default printer.
- Choosing All will print the form and its content to your
Windows printer. (In most cases, "A" is the appropriate selection.)
- Choosing Screen will direct the screen's content to your
Windows printer.
- Choosing Component will also direct the screen's content to
your Windows printer.
- Choosing Clear will direct the form and its content to your
Windows printer; however, because the data is then cleared from memory after printing,
this option is NOT RECOMMENDED.
- Select the appropriate radio button.
- You will be presented with the print dialog box indicating that the output will be sent
to your LPT1 printer.
- Select the okay button to print.
In the event the print option is grayed out on the file menu, you can still print from the
FIS. PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION when using this option however, and make sure you have an
understanding of what will be printed. (Some users have had the experience of printing a
large report when all they really wanted was the data that appeared on their screen. This
may especially be true when printing from the Inquiries/Balances screens.) The steps for
this process are as follows:
- Select the F12 key on your keyboard.
- Follow steps 2 through 4 above.
There are two other printing options that are not specific to the FIS. From any screen,
pressing Print Screen on your keyboard will dump the current screen's image to the Windows
clipboard.
- From the clipboard, you may choose to print or manipulate the image using Word,
Paintbrush, or any other application capable of using graphics images.
- Finally, pressing Shift-Print Screen will dump the screen's contents to your default
printer. Using this option, however, will not preserve the screen's attributes.
