What should I do if one of our FIS users can't access TP, but UITS has confirmed that all of the necessary steps have been taken by their organization?


Within TP, select Inquiries/Reference Tables from the menu options. You will be presented with a list of tables. Select FIS User from the list, to bring up a search window. Conduct a search for the user id of the person in question. Once the user id is displayed, you should see a "Y" in the Active column indicating that this person is an active TP user. If a "Y" is displayed here, contact the FMS Support Form for further assistance.

If an "N" is displayed in the Active column this person is not an active user for one of the following three reasons:

  1. A FIS User Document has not been initiated for this person.

  2. A FIS User Document was initiated, but the active flag was set to "No" on the document.

  3. A FIS User Document was initiated, but has not completed the routing/approval process.

In either of the first two cases, a FIS User Document must be created and routed. (Always make sure the active flag is set to yes if you want the user to be active right away.) Once the document receives final approval the user may begin accessing the TP system.

If the third scenario is true, you may want to check the routing log for the document to see if it has been in someone's in box awaiting approval for an unusually long period of time. If this is the case, you may wish to contact that person to advise them that the document should be approved as soon as possible.
